Harwich Guild has not met since 4th March this year, just before lock down and at a recent committee meeting it was decided that regrettably meetings will not be able to recommence until after Christmas.

The club normally meets weekly during school term time at the United Services Club in Harwich. Enrolment was due to take place on 2nd September but this will not now happen .

All speakers for 2020 have been cancelled.  Membership had been growing and attendance at meetings has exceeded 90 on several occasions.

The group holiday to Oban by coach which was due to take place in May has been deferred until next May and the September trip to France has been cancelled.  Day coach outings have also been abandoned until 2021 when it is hoped that activities can be restarted.

It is hoped that the annual Christmas lunch, which is scheduled for 16th December at The Waterfront, might still take place.

Chairman Sheena Parsons said “We regret having to cancel the activities which give enjoyment to so many of our members but we must be guided by government rules and also by the United Services Club from whom we rent the premises”
